Family life is not meant to be lived in isolation. Even in the most capable and well-intentioned homes, the daily responsibilities of caring for children, managing a household, and supporting loved ones can become overwhelming without help.

A strong support network is essential—not only in times of crisis, but in the ordinary, everyday rhythms of life. Whether it’s help with children, guidance in education, assistance after welcoming a new baby, or simply an extra set of hands during a busy week, support brings a sense of peace, stability, and balance to the home.
In the past, this kind of help often came from extended family, neighbors, and close-knit communities. While those connections still exist, they are not always readily available or consistent. Many families today find themselves navigating important seasons of life without the steady, practical support they need.
It was out of this reality that I created Second to Mom.
As a homeschooling mother of five, I have spent many years living the fullness of family life—its joys, its demands, and the constant need to adapt. I understand firsthand how meaningful it is to have someone step in, not to take over, but to support what is already there.
Second to Mom was created to offer that kind of support: practical, dependable help that meets families where they are. Whether it is childcare, postpartum assistance, tutoring and homeschool guidance, transportation, or support for senior adults, my goal is to come alongside families in a way that feels natural, respectful, and steady.
This work is not simply about completing tasks. It is about helping to restore a sense of order, lightening what feels heavy, and creating space for families to focus on what matters most.
In every season—whether welcoming a new baby, raising children, supporting students, or caring for aging loved ones—I believe families should not have to carry everything on their own.
We all need support. And when that support is present, the home becomes a place not only of responsibility, but of peace.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
